Our Agenda family recently got a bit bigger as we welcomed a new Strategist to our team. Adrianna Williams joins us from Maslansky + Partners where she sharpened her skills in qual and quant research, copywriting, developing strategy, verbal branding and just generally making brands sound really good.

Adrianna grew up on the West Coast in LA and graduated from NYU with a degree in Media, Culture, and Communications. When she’s not helping our clients tell stories about what makes them awesome, you can find her eating her way around NYC and adding saves to her Google Maps, watching Bravo or mastering NYT online games (who else plays Connections?). She recently started Citi biking around the city so keep your eye out for a frantic biker on the Upper East Side!

To get to know Adrianna better, we asked her three quick questions. Here’s what she said:

Favorite food?

Rice and beans. A true labor of love. My grandma always used to have a fresh pot of beans and hot white rice ready when I would go visit her. My mom kept the tradition alive throughout my childhood—waking up early on a weekend to chop, sauté and simmer the beans that were always ready by the time I woke up. Eating rice and beans is truly a warm hug from within and will always make me feel comforted, no matter how far I am from my family.

Favorite word (in any language)?

Ephemeral. In a world where everything is moving quickly, and time feels like it’s just waiting to pass you by, it can feel hard to hold onto moments in time. So often we’re either looking to the past and reminiscing on a feeling of nostalgia or anxiously awaiting the future, so the time in between is glossed over. Ephemeral reminds me that there are moments that exist for only a fraction of time that deserve to be relished just as much as the ones we’ve already experienced or the ones that have yet to be.

55 degrees or 85 degrees?

85 degrees (hands down). In true California fashion, I cannot turn down a warm day. There is no better feeling than the sun shining down on my face and having to squint when I look up at the sky. 85 degrees is the perfect temperature to enjoy sitting outside, nurse a cold beverage of choice and catch an ever so slight tan (if the UV is high enough).

What made you choose Agenda?

When I was looking for my next opportunity, I knew I wanted to land somewhere that didn’t have a one-size-fits-all approach. From my first look at Agenda's website as an applicant, I was struck by the company’s tagline: Find your awesome. Make it obvious. The balance of discovery (finding) and execution (making it obvious) felt distinctly different, and I could truly envision myself as part of the work the team does. More than just their work, the people at Agenda pushed me from being interested in the job to crossing my fingers I’d get the job. Each person I spoke with was warm, intriguing and brought their own awesome to the conversation. Agenda is a place where individuality (in employees and clients) is celebrated and encouraged. No two people here are the same, and there is certainly not a one-size-fits-all approach to who we are or what we do.
