With more than 200 branches, Banco Popular Dominicano (Popular) has the largest network in The Dominican Republic. But post-pandemic, the world is primarily digital. Popular has innovated so people can bank easily and safely from home or on-the-go. However, by releasing so many features so fast, “The marketing hasn’t caught up to the innovation,” as one team member told us. “People don’t get what we have and how it can help.”

Popular is often first to market and nearly 50% of Dominican bank app users use Popular. Every innovation is designed around the moments in people’s lives where digital makes a big difference. Like when you leave home without your card or want to split the bill without a problem. Popular brings the future of digital banking to customers sooner.
Solution
To take ownership of their digital leadership, they needed a clear and compelling way of communicating and branding their digital offerings. Along with redesigning their apps, we created a campaign that highlights the many ways Popular is always one step ahead and has created app experiences that fit into their customers’ lives. For example, no more waiting in Santo Domingo traffic to deposit a check at the bank. Popular is the only bank in The DR that offers mobile check deposit…and so many other features that keep you one step ahead.
